To edit any of the settings for a song, first bring up the Song Settings Screen for the song by pressing the Song Settings Button on the Main Screen. This must be done while the song is at the top of the Playlist. It doesn't matter whether or not the song is playing.
You can hear the effect of the adjustments you are making. The control at the top of the Song Settings Screen, which has four buttons labeled like the buttons on a CD player, enables you to play, pause , rewind (to beginning of the song) and fast forward (to the last 10 seconds of the song).
Set the Title and the Artist
Each song which is loaded into the EZ Play DJ has a Title and an optional Artist.
To edit the Title, press the button labeled 'Title' on the Song Settings Screen. This will bring up a Keyboard Screen, where you can edit the Title.
To edit the Artist, press the button labeled 'Artist' on the Song Settings Screen. This will bring up a Keyboard Screen, where you can add, edit, or delete the Artist.
Setting Duration of the Song
Sometimes a song, as loaded into the EZ Play DJ, has a few silent seconds at the beginning or end of the song. These may be trimmed from the song to prevent delays in playback.
Each song in the EZ Play DJ has a Start Time and an End Time These default to zero and the length of the song, respectively. To trim some time off the beginning of the song, increase the Start Time, and to trim some time off the end of the song, decrease the End Time.
To set the Start Time, press the button on the Song Settings Screen labeled 'Start Time'. This will bring up a Set Time Screen which will enable you to set the time.
To set the End Time, press the button on the Song Settings Screen labeled 'End Time'. This will bring up a Set Time Screen which will enable you to set the time.
Set the Equalization
You can set the Equalization for all songs on the Options Screen. But you may not always want to set the Equalization for every song the same way. You can set the Equalization setting specific to each song. This can be set to override the global setting in various ways.
On the Song Settings Screen is a rectangle labeled 'Equalization' which has two buttons.
Select the Override Method
The top button sets the override method. To turn song-specific equalization on, so that it overrides the global equalization setting when the global equalization is enabled, but has no effect when global equalization is disabled, press it until has the label 'Override Global'. To turn song-specific equalization off, so that the global setting is used, press it until it has the label 'Use Global'. To turn song-specific equalization on, so that it is always in effect even when global equalization is disabled, press it until has the label 'Use Always'.
Setting the Times
The bottom button is used to set the equalization. The available settings are 'None', 'Boost Base', 'Boost Treble', and 'Boost Both'. The 'Boost Both' is sometimes referred to as 'Loudness'.
Setting the Volume
Press the Up or Down Button next to the Volume display until the desired volume is set. Volume is expressed as a percent of unadjusted volume. This setting defaults to 100% of the unadjusted volume.
Setting the Speed
You can set the playback speed of the song at the top of the Playlist by using the Speed Control on the Main Screen. But you may always want to speed up or slow down a song by the same amount when you play it. You can set the default Speed setting which appears in the Speed Control when a song moves to the top of the Playlist. The default Speed may be set for songs individually. Of course, you can always override the default setting by using the Speed Control on the Main Screen.
Press the Up or Down Arrow on the control until the desired default speed is set. It will be displayed as speed offset, beats per minute, or measures, depending on the display method selected on the Options Screen.
Calibrating the Speed Display
You might not know the correct value of beats per minute or measures per minute for the song. Press the 'Calibrate' button to open up the Calculate Tempo Screen to determine or set the beats per minute or measures per minute for the song.
Setting Fade Out
You can set the global fade time and duration for all songs on the Options Screen. But you may not always want to fade out every song the same way. You can set Fade Out settings specific to each song. These can be set to override the global settings in various ways.
These settings have no effect on Fade In.

Select the Override Method
The top button sets the override method. To turn song-specific fading out on, so that it overrides the global fade setting when the global fade is enabled, but has no effect when global fade is disabled, press it until has the label 'Override Global'. To turn song-specific fading out off, so that the global setting is used, press it until it has the label 'Use Global'. To turn song-specific fading out on, so that it is always in effect even when global fade is disabled, press it until has the label 'Use Always'.
Setting the Times
The middle button is used to set the fade out start time. In the example below it is set to two minutes and thirty seconds. Pressing the button brings up a Set Time Screen which will enable you to set the start time.
The bottom button is used to set the number of seconds that it takes for the song to completely fade out. In the example below it is set to five seconds. Pressing the button brings up a Set Time Screen which will enable you to set the number of seconds.
Setting the Rating
Song ratings range from zero (unrated) to five (highly rated).
On the Song Settings Screen is a rectangle labeled 'Rating' which has one button. To set the rating for the song, press that button until the number of stars on that button is the rating you desire. The rating can be set from 0 stars to 5 stars in half star steps.
Returning to the Main Screen
Press the button labeled 'OK' to save your changes and return to the Main Screen.
Press the button labeled 'Cancel' to discard your changes and return to the Main Screen.
