With just a few button presses the appearance of the screens can be changed.  Predesigned Skins are provided with the EZ Play DJ.  And you can create your own custom Skins.  A Skin is a predefined set of colors, fonts, and button styles which determine how the screens of the EZ Play DJ will look.

The Managing Skins Screen

The  Managing Skins Screen allows you to view the available Skins and to select one.  The pane on the right shows a representation of the selected Skin.

Previewing the Skin

Use the Up and Down Arrow Buttons to the right of the list of Skins to select one.

Returning to the System Configuration Screen

Press the button labeled 'Apply Skin and Exit' to apply the selected Skin to the EZ Play DJ and return to the System Configuration Screen.

Press the button labeled 'Exit' to discard your selection and return to the System Configuration Screen.

Managing Skins

To Create, Edit, Delete, Organize, Import, and Export skins click on the button at the top of the screen labeled 'Manage Skins'.  This will change the left pane of the screen.

There is a group of six buttons just under the caption 'Skin Sets' on this screen.  They represent the six Skin Sets that are defined.

Installed

These are the Skins available to be applied to the EZ Play DJ.  Skins can be copied or moved into or out of this Skin Set.  They can be renamed or deleted.  The one restriction is that the Skin that is actually applied to the EZ Play DJ cannot be moved from or deleted from the Skin Set.  If there is just one Skin in the Skin Set it is applied to the EZ Play DJ, so it cannot be deleted or moved out.

Final

This is a place where any Skin can be stored.  Skins in this Skin Set, like the ones in the Installed Set, can be copied or moved into or out of this Skin Set.  They can be renamed or deleted  .And Skins can be imported into this Skin Set.

Draft

This Skin Set has one characteristic that none of the others has.  Skins can be created or edited in this Skin Set.  And, like the Final Sets, Skins  can be copied or moved into or out of this Skin Set.  They can be renamed or deleted.  And Skins can be imported into this Skin Set.

Export

This is the only Skin Set from which Skins can be exported to a file on your PC.  They can then be imported into the Final or Draft Skin Set on another computer with the EZ Play DJ.  Its purpose is to be a location into which you gather Skins to be exported.  You can Rename or Delete skins in this Skin Set.  Skins can be copied from any other Skin Set.  They can be moved into this Skin Set only from the Deleted Skin Set.

Original

Skins in this Skin Set are the ones provided with the EZ Play DJ.  Skins can be copied from this Skin Set to any other Skin Set except the Deleted Skin Set.

Deleted

If a Skin is deleted from another Skin Set it is added automatically to this Skin Set.  It holds the nine most recently deleted Skins.

When a Skin Set is selected with one of the six buttons the names of the Skins in the Skin Set are loaded List of Skins.  Use the Up and Down Arrow Buttons to the right of the list of Skins to select one.

Below the six buttons for the Skin Sets are three buttons for actions that can be performed on Skin Sets.

Add Skin

This button is enabled only if the Draft Skin Set is selected.  It adds a blank Skin to the Draft Skin Set.  The purpose of this Skin is to be edited and saved.  This is how a new Skin is created.

Import

This button is enabled if either the Final or Draft Skin Set is selected.  Its purpose is to import a previously exported skin or skins into one of these two skin sets.  They could have been exported from any EZ Play DJ.

Export

This button is enabled only if the Export Skin Set is selected, and at least one Skin is in the Skin Set.

Below the Skins list are four buttons for actions that can be performed on Skins.
